DOUGLAS L. HEINOLD, ESQUIRE


Mr. Heinold's practice concentrates in the areas of local government law, land use and real estate. He is the chair of the Local Government Section of the Burlington County Bar Association and currently serves as Township Attorney for Delanco Township and Shamong Township. He previously served as Township Attorney for Riverside Township, and has represented numerous public entities including: Bordentown City, Cinnaminson, Chesterfield, Delran, Evesham, Gloucester City, Mansfield, Mount Holly, Pemberton, Pemberton Planning Board and Somers Point. He has also served as Special Counsel on Open Public Records Act (“OPRA”) litigation in Haddon Heights and Longport, and on Special Assessments in Alloway Township.


Mr. Heinold has extensive experience in land use matters involving local government land preservation and has handled some of the largest local government preservation transactions in Burlington County history, including the Pointe in Medford Township and King’s Grant-Phase II in Evesham Township. In addition, he has represented land use clients across the State, including national cellular telephone companies, commercial developers, residential subdivisions and individual residents.


Mr. Heinold attended Indian Mills School (1985), Shawnee High School (1989), Rutgers University (English and Sociology) (1993) and Rutgers School of Law (1996). He served as Law Clerk to the Honorable Ronald E. Bookbinder, A.J.S.C. during the Law Division’s 1996-97 term. He also obtained his Diplomate in New Jersey Municipal Law from Rutgers University. Prior to the formation of Raymond Coleman Heinold, LLP, Mr. Heinold was employed as Counsel with the firm of Parker McCay in Marlton, New Jersey.


Mr. Heinold is a Trustee for the Burlington County Bar Association, President of the Burlington County Bar Foundation, and a Member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and the New Jersey International Municipal Lawyers Association. He is a past recipient of the prestigious Robert W. Criscuolo Award, given annually to an attorney in recognition of contributions to the Bar Association and the community.  He is also included in the 2010 New Jersey Super Lawyers Rising Stars magazine as one of the top attorneys in New Jersey, in the area of government, cities, and municipalities, as well as inclusion in their four annual editions prior to that (2006-2010).  Mr. Heinold was also recognized in the Awesome Attorneys edition of South Jersey Magazine in the area of Real Estate/Tax Appeals in each edition since 2007.

Mr. Heinold previously served as the Fundraising Chair and the Logistics Chair for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life – Medford. Mr. Heinold is also a member of Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Tabernacle, where he serves on the Board for the Church’s pre-school, The Grace Place. He also volunteers as a coach of baseball and soccer in the Indian Mills Athletic Association and is a member of Medford Lakes Country Club.
